Located within one-north, Grab Headquarters incorporates biophilic design and greenery as part of its workplace environment. Vertical greenery and landscaped sky terraces are integrated into the development, including a continuous green wall spanning approximately 252 sqm along the building façade. The open walkway allows the greenery to become a prominent part of the everyday experience of employees and visitors.
Rather than using a large variety of plants, the green wall adopts a deliberately simple palette of two varieties, Philodendron hederaceum var. hederaceum and Philodendron hederaceum ‘Gold’. Their different foliage tones are arranged to create gradient highlights across the wall while maintaining a clean and cohesive appearance.
The planting palette was also selected in response to the site's growing conditions. Light levels throughout the day were considered, with species chosen for their ability to tolerate indirect sunlight, establish relatively quickly and provide good coverage while remaining relatively easy to maintain.
Beyond its visual role, the green wall helps soften the building façade and brings nature closer to the workplace. Together with the development's landscaped sky terraces, the vertical greenery contributes to a more biophilic working environment and reinforces the integration of greenery within the building's architecture.
